Is it morbidity, or the elegance of simplicity, that draws us to the beauty found in endings?
Autumn has arrived, draped in quiet inevitability. The trees relinquish their hold, vitality drawn inward, roots anchoring them as the Green Man prepares to stand bare… stark in his honesty, vulnerable to frost. And yet, we marvel at the vividness of this transformation. Fiery leaves, fleeting in their brilliance, enchant our senses as if illuminated from within. Even as Nature pares herself down to her essence, there is radiance in the surrender.
Endings in relationships, friendships, and even death can carry a similar grace. In reflection, we find traces of joy… moments that linger, shaping us in unexpected ways. These departures reveal new spaces within us, inviting growth that might not have surfaced otherwise. Sometimes, the beauty lies in what unfolds in the embers… in the quiet, unexpected opportunities that spark from the hearth, igniting dormant potential. Grief can become evolution, more than itself… a bittersweet muse, walking beside us, arm in arm on the journey.
Our human nature, at once fragile and fierce, moves us to look before we leap. We were taught as children to pause, to consider consequences… but what if our thoughts misguide us? What if that inner voice urges us toward folly? And what if, in the reckoning of our perceived missteps, an odd gratification reveals itself, as though the leap itself carried its own meaning? There’s a curious thrill in venturing too far, in watching how the world shifts when we do.
The power of risk lies in the possibility of uncovering untapped strengths. The seeds of resilience sprout in moments when we dare… when we embrace the unpredictability of change. Transformation comes when we release the need for certainty and simply trust ourselves… trust the process. Leap with intention.
Begin with a small, decisive risk… one that excites and terrifies in equal measure. Not outside your comfort zone, but as an expansion of it. Reflect on the courage it unlocks, the insights it brings, and the resilience it fosters. Each leap is a quantum spring toward a more authentic self, a chance to witness the beauty of our shifting world through bold, unflinching eyes.
These days, our heightened awareness of the world’s transformations weighs heavy. Or perhaps it sharpens our vision, clearing a haze we hadn’t noticed until now. The remnants of what no longer serves dissolve into particles of ash, drifting like fairies into the quiet corners of memory.
In their absence, I feel something stirring within me… a quiet renewal, an unburdening, a readiness to begin again. A kind of Supergrief… the alchemy of sorrow into strength, lifting us from mourning, reframing endings as beginnings. It bestows us with the courage to leap without looking, trusting we will sprout wings come spring and drift with the fae toward new horizons.

Interesting perspective. I don't think it's morbidity that drives us to endings, but rather the anticipation of new beginnings. The prospect of releasing thoughts and even people that no longer serve us may seem selfish to some. Are we releasing people that are no longer useful to us? Or, is it that our energies are so mismatched and the release occurs so natural that we are unaware of the process? Life is a marvel to me. We are often so entrenched in our beliefs and idiosyncrasies that we can't see the bigger picture. Life is meant to be lived unapologetically. We decide where our boundaries to growth and improvement are based on personal choices, and hopefully, love of ourselves as well as others drives us to a sensible choice and happy new beginning, not to use or misuse the trust placed in us, but with a mutual understanding that life is an adventure to be embraced and not a heavy burden to carry on a daily basis. New beginnings energize our wings. It's up to us to use the new opportunities wisely.
